Another brand steeped in history from Bagga. Edwin was established in Japan in 1947 by Mr Tsunemi. Initially, he was importing denim Jeans from the U.S. as no denim was manufactured in Japan at the time. Old, vintage denim was laundered and repaired before being sold to his customers. In 1961 Mr Tsunemi created the first pair of Edwin Jeans, creating the brand name by manipulating the letters in the word denim, using an inverted W.
By 1963 Edwin had produced the world’s heaviest ringspun denim jean (16oz), featuring the famous three-colour rainbow selvedge, which is still being used today.
In the 1990’s Edwin created the ‘new vintage’ denim concept, which encompasses the subtle beauty of hand replicating vintage washes from archive references pre-dating 1947.
Edwin is an authentic denim brand priding itself on innovation and craftsmanship, utilizing exclusive fabrics and fabrication, unique technology, hand wash processes, and continual progression in design and fit.
Edwin Jeans are a firm favourite of fashion buyers, celebrities and denim lovers the world over. The biggest selling Jeans brand in Japan today, Edwin also produces fantastic Edwin T Shirts, Shirts, Jackets and more. A very cool denim brand, highly favoured by fashion aficionados.
